New York Man Will Be Extradited To Maine - Jun. 03, 2019

 New York man will be extradited to Maine on a drug trafficking charge.

Officials Obtained a criminal arrest warrant for Basillio Liranzo (24) of Bronx, NY,

On May 15,  MDEA Agents with the Downeast District Task Force charged Liranzo with aggravated trafficking in heroin, a class A crime.

On May 23, the New York City Police Department arrested Liranzo, at MDEA’s request, charging him as a fugitive from justice.
Liranzo appeared in the Bronx County Supreme Court on May 29 and waived extradition.

In the coming weeks, MDEA agents will travel to New York and bring Liranzo back to Maine to face the charges.

Liranzo, who is on probation for a prior drug trafficking conviction, is the latest of more than thirty arrests that began on May 2, as part of year-long
investigation into the distribution of fentanyl, heroin and cocaine in Downeast Maine.
