Light A Life Raises Over $8,000 for Sunrise Care Facility

Down East Community Hospital's Annual "Light A Life" celebration raised over $8,000 for Sunrise Care Facility (SCF) in Jonesport.

Sunrise Care Facility is an award winning 28 bed long-term care facility with award winning staff.  Everyone at SCF takes great pride in providing high quality, compassionate care to their residents and, because of the continued support of the community, they can make improvements at the facility that will support the high quality standards of service.

This year's Light A Life celebration took place on Thursday, December 14.  It featured music from the Rose M. Gaffney Chorus, photos with Santa and his Elf, crafts, yummy homemade snacks made by the DECH Auxiliary, and a hot chocolate bar!  CEO, Dennis Welsh, welcomed the attendees and Arlena Ryan, Sunrise Care Facility's Administrator, spoke on the importance of SCF and what it means to their residents, their staff, and the community.  Everyone enjoyed the holiday event!

From DECH CEO, Dennis Welsh, "Thank you to all who participated in this year's festivities and for your continued support of our mission to provide quality healthcare throughout the community.  Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year."
