Machias Valley Airport in Machias will receive $270,000 - Jun. 01, 2017

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senators Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee, and Angus King, announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a total of $3,317,011 in funding to 10 airports in Maine. The funding was awarded through the Federal Aviation Administration, an agency within the DOT.
“Maine’s regional airports are vital pieces of our transportation system that help bolster the tourism industry and support jobs across our state," Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. "This important investment will enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation networks and help support local economies across Maine."

Machias Valley Airport in Machias will receive $270,000 to fund the construction of a 4,000 square foot terminal building, and reconstruction of 1,200 feet of access road pavement that has exceeded its use.
