The Calais-St. Croix Area Rotary Club is working with regional nonprofit WindowDressers to offer low-cost window inserts for homes in Washington County. These inserts are custom-measured and built by volunteers so that recipients only pay the cost of materials.
Anyone can apply for inserts, and financial assistance is available for those unable to pay full price.
Low income households can receive up to ten inserts free of charge. The inserts are reusable for multiple seasons, and they’ve been shown to reduce energy costs by up to 20 percent.
Applications are accepted online or by phone, and only take about three minutes to complete.
The deadline to apply is September 15th. The inserts will be built in Calais in late October. Please see the attachment for more details, and let me know if I can answer any questions. Thanks so much for anything you can do to help us get this information out to Washington County households.
