We spoke with Spencer McCormick on the Street Beat
about the The Skate 4 Life Event and Skate competition.
This interview was to inform our listeners about the event which will provide help for Washington County with mental health counseling, substance use prevention and recovery, suicide awareness, and veterans resources.
The Skate 4 Life Event and Skate Comp will be a place to gain information from organizations who help Washington County with mental health counseling, substance use prevention and recovery, suicide awareness, and veterans resources. There will be a yankee auction, food and drinks where 10% of all proceeds will go to local organizations to support mental health services, especially our veterans. We will have a separate raffle for a 3 credit course donated by WCCC. All of the donations and proceeds are going towards the purchase of a new mini half pipe. The skateboard competition will have a beginner and advanced categories where skaters will have two :45 second runs and judges will take the best of the two runs. We have over $600 worth of competition prizes sponsored by 6 local businesses. We have 10 skateboards for new riders to borrow during the competition.
