On April 23rd, 2025 Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 67-year-old Duane E. Geel of Wesley on a Felony Arrest Warrant issued by the Machias Unified Court after an extended Sheriff’ Office investigation. Mr. Geel was charged with 6 counts of Gross Sexual Assault allegedly involving a minor.
Mr. Geel was arrested by deputies at his home in Wesley without incident. Mr. Geel’s bail on the warrant was set at 100,000$ cash, no contact with the minor victim or witnesses, and no contact with children under the age of 18.
Mr. Geel remains in the Washington County Jail and will make his first court appearance on April 25th at 1 pm.
