After high winds swept through our service territory last night and this morning, crews are prioritizing public safety issues like downed lines. Along with addressing public safety issues, crews are assessing damage, which is necessary for us to plan to bring the most customers online at a time. At this time, restoration is expected to continue over several days.

Eastern Maine Electric is experiencing widespread outages throughout our service territory. At this time we do not have restoration times. Line workers will be dispatched once we are able to assess the damage and the winds diminish. The Versant Power Company transmission line that feeds electricity to two of Eastern Maine Electric’s substations has gone offline, cutting power to most Co-op members in Southern Aroostook and Northern Penobscot Counties. This message will be updated as more information becomes available.
