A Sunday Message from JEFF
So, I have been sitting around all day watching football. And as I was watching, the smell of turkey cooking filled my home. It was intoxicating.
I planned it so the bird was done between games. It’s not my first rodeo. And as I was watching the game and smelling turkey, it made me think of the Turkey A Thon. See how I did that smooth transition.
I hope you all are thinking of the Turkey A Thon as well on this fall Sunday.
As much as I love Football, Turkey dinner and the fall season, combined, they remind me of how much all of your contributions will help other families be able to enjoy them as well.
Thanksgiving is family getting together, football on the TV, the smell of turkey and holiday sweets throughout the house. I think it is something everyone should enjoy, every year. Helping our neighbors a day each year will make a big difference for many families holidays throughout the county.
So, all I am asking is that we all work together again this year. It’s our 20th Turkey A Thon, and I would like to see it be our biggest ever! So I am setting a goal of $40,001. That will be the biggest in our history and will go a long way in helping our food pantries here in Washington County.
I hope everyone is ready for a great day. I know our partners at Healthy Acadia are, I know our sponsors, Dunkin in Calais and Machias and VL Tamarro in Woodland and in Calais are. And I know our hundreds of volunteers are, including the original volunteers that have been with us for every Turkey A Thon, the Calais Rotary Club.
So rest up and get ready for a fun event.
Thank you in advance and I Iook forward to seeing and talking to many of you this Friday.
Jeff
