Boil water advisory in effect for Saint Andrews

A boil water advisory is in effect for all customers on the municipality’s water system.

Town oficials say that, due to a malfunction in sensors over the weekend, chlorine levels dropped below acceptable levels according to provincial regulations.

All water used for consumption or cooking purposes must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

It is not necessary to boil water used for household purposes such as bathing, showering, laundry or washing dishes.

Adults, adolescents and older children may bathe, shower or wash provided no water is swallowed.

Toddlers, infants and immunocompromised individuals should only be sponge bathed to avoid accidental ingestion.
